This is currently my favorite half marathon which is organized by runners. Great course which captures San Diego nicely. Great downhill finish and ends in the historic Gaslamp district with a great spectator crowd and a huge jumbo tron where you can watch yourself finish. Weather is great this time of year. A few slightly rough areas but nothing that actually slowed me down. Great race to PR in. Best organized race, which is why I bumped up the overall rating.

This was my first barefoot half marathon and I was very pleased with the experience overall. The expo and race organization were fantastic and the course was not too challenging, with the exception of a moderate hill around mile 9. The terrain was relatively barefoot friendly, as it coursed along mostly smooth paved roads. There were a few rough patches around miles 3 and 8, and a short trail with some stones around mile 6, but nothing too bad. The downhill finish was a fun perk at the end. I'd definitely run this again and highly recommend it to other barefoot runners!
